5 Years

This weekend, Marc & I celebrated five years of marriage!  We headed to Fredericksburg for a weekend getaway.  We stayed at Buffalo Creek Ranch Cottages, which was a small track of land just a few miles south of downtown.  We were able to spend a day downtown, then a day at Kerrville and evening at Luckenbach.  On our way home Sunday, we stopped at Wildseed Farms and then Grape Creek Vineyard, just east of town on "Wine Road" (290).  It was a very relaxing trip, and we even picked up a beautiful painting for our gift to eachother (we have been wanting one for a long while).  I think while we were away, we realized that while our lives have changed dramatically since we got married, so many of the basics are still the same (insert Waylon Jennings lyrics here :).  We are extremely thankful for each other, and the life that we have built together.  Below are some pics from our anniversary trip to the Hill Country...

At Buffalo Creek Ranch Cottages, taking a little hike to see the Pedernales River

A ranch down the road - notice anything funny about the name?  Disney spelled backwards!  Note the windmill in the background... I kept trying to convince Marc that I really need a windmill!  Love them...

Lunch at Auslander - very yummy German food!

Marc had fun at the Auslander Biergarten :)

A cool wooden statue carved out of an old tree by a local artist, in front of the Library.  So creative!
Cool little (or BIG) contraption!

On our anniversary night, Marc grilled for me at our little cabin - steak, shrimp & mushrooms, my favorite!

A relaxing night in...

Journey to Kerrville for lunch and to see the beautiful Guadalupe River!

Luckenbach Dance Hall :)

The Luckenbach Feed Lot - yum!

Everybody's somebody in Luckenbach - even the little birds at the Washer Pit!

Yes, he rode his steer to town.

Just hanging out around town

Pickin' and grinnin'

Feeling very at home, even so far away from home!

Does that Lone Star sign look familiar?!  Bought that same one for Marc's birthday, ages ago!

Guest book.

In front of the Post Office.  It was so cold this weekend!

You know I had to take a picture with that darn steer.  I'm just impressed Marc agreed to get in the picture with me!  If this isn't the perfect anniversary, I don't know what is!

Here is the brick that we had laid outside of the Luckenbach Dance Hall!

Leaving our cabin at Buffalo Creek

Visiting Grape Creek Vineyards on our way out of town.  What a great end to a great trip!

Our new painting hanging in our home!
