17.5 Weeks

Dr. Kirshon gave me a pregnancy goal today - to make it to 35 weeks! That would put us delivering around mid-September! How exciting!

Today we got our first 4-D ultrasound. We saw lots of faces, and what we believe to be a huge grin and a nose-picking session! It looks as though the chipmunks will either be sucking their thumbs or picking their noses upon birth... We will love them anyways! Don't be frightened by the pics, the babies still have a long way to go, developmentally!

I still haven't felt the babies move (I don't think), but not to worry, Doc told me to be careful what I wish for! Once they start, they won't stop!

Everything looks good, my weight gain is good, and the babies are looking strong. Baby A and Baby B have completely switched places! (Our little boy has wisened up and high-tailed it for the border... Too much estrogen in there!) The boy is now on the right side, and the two girls are in the center and on my left.

Baby A (boy) - 7 ounces (breech)
Baby B (girl) - 7 ounces (breech)
Baby C (girl) - 8 ounces (transverse)

Translation: breech = butt down, vertex = head down, transverse = horizontal, or catawampus!

Dr. K gets an estimate of a baby's weight by measuring the circumference of the head, the size of the abdomen, and the length of the femur bone... and then plugging it into this complicated formula! (Yes, we had to ask!) Pretty amazing, huh?
